Mike Catalano says“Beauty and the Beast was the first track recorded for A Manhattan Affair, its a tribute to love, R&B, maybe a little bossa nova too, sometimes I call it “R&B-A-Nova”. I really designed it with Bob James in mind and was thrilled to bits when he agreed to guest star on it, if there’s one most significant influence in my smooth jazz life, it would be Bob who certainly has influenced a whole generation of Smooth Jazz artists and I’m really honored that he played on Beauty and my song “Moonlight in Baja” on A Manhattan Affair”.
